Introducing the new SAMSUNG D880 and F330

Well its been so long I've updated my gadget blog so I decided to start the new year with two cool mobile phones by Samsung. Let's start now.

First up is the all new Samsung D880......

You al probably must be thinking its just another slider phone from Samsung so...... Let me open up everyone's mind for a little bit. This sleek gadget here is indeed another slider phone but the catch is, it can hold 2 sim cards at the same time. Meaning that two sim cards are inserted into the phone and both contacts on the 2 cards can be reachable. With 1 small condition. You have to make either one number as your primary number for dialling out. If you wanna switch your primary line to the other number just do it in the menu settings. No hassle. You don't need to open up the back cover and taking off your battery and switch the 2 sim cards' placements. It still can work that way but who needs he fuss anyways right?

This phone here comes also with a 3 megapixels camera and as evryone knows that there are hardly complaints about the camera resolution cause its very good. The menu interface is pretty much the same as any Nokias or Sony Ericssons or Motorolas out there. Hey they need to change if hey wanna keep it real with the big boys.

The only disadvantage with this phone is that it has no 3G capabilities. It's also alittle big bulky but hey it sure beats bringing 2 handphones out right? Trust me it really does help. Meanwhile the sound is not quite up to the mark especially if you're in noisy surroundings. You only rely on the vibration of the phone to answer a call, unless you're Superman. The price well its a little bit pricey as well for a phone with no 3G but it has the dual sim card capability to compensate for the lack of 3G. It only cost RM 1699 from FMG. 1 phone for the price of 2 well it sure is a fairly good deal.

Next we have a dedicated music phone the 1st ever from Samsung.

Samsung F330

This lovely slider killer is sure 1 beauty who can pack a mean punch. With the mirror coating screen and the touch sensitive keys are really appealing to one's eyes.
The white and black combination really gives the coolness to the phone with a touch of reflective mirror like look. The buttons are touch sensitive and yes you heard me correctly. The keys are touch sensitive except for the play/pause button in the middle, the music player key and the number pads. That's what makes Samsung phones look so cool. The touch sensitive keys and the mirror display.
Let's turn our attention to the features of this icey beauty. It is a music phone so it does have a music player of its own. It is sort of like the Sony Ericsson's Walkman well this is Samsung's version of the Walkman player. The interface is nothing to be complicated about cause it is easy to mingle. The menu interface also easy to use.
The SGH F330 has 3G capabilities but unfortunately it only packs with a 2 megapixel camera unlike the SGH D880. But the overall look is definitely a better design than the SGH D880. It's slimmer and it's nice to hold. The price for this baby is just about right going almost the same as other brands of music phones. It is around RM 1199 from FMG also.
Well that's all for today and I hope you all gadgeteers like what I've brought to you all.

sms n exchange things with MobiK.com

Today i found a great website whereby u can use it to send text messages and refer friends or people who has difficulties at times to send their sms's across due to insufficient credit. Recommend them and earn points per person then the best part is you can use the points you've accumulated and purchase products that are on their e-store. Products are amazingly attractive from game consoles, Cellphones to digital cameras to even iPods.

Is that cool or cool? You decide. Besides, what have you got to lose anyway. Registrations free so what are you waiting for. Just log on to www.mobik.com

Once you register online - which is REALLY easy - then all our TXT's are free. Plus if you get anyone else to join, then those TXT's are free as well.

The best thing is we can TXT from PC to mobile as well as between mobiles. It's really easy to use and takes about three minutes to sign up.

Also, they have this deal - whenever you invite new members or get involved with their promotions, they give you some 'K' which you can exchange for all kinds of stuff at their online store.

Motorola Z8

This is Motorola RIZR Z8 that is due to be out in Malaysia next month or so. It is said based on my sources that this phone is aimed at entertainment hungry users. It combines mobile movie, TV, music, internet and as usual games. This phone is 3G enabled so guys there you go.
It's said to be billed as the world's first "kick slider" phone which glides open and kicks out for a perfect "fit to face" profile whatever that means. I'll keep you guys updated on that "kick slider" issue.
Funtions are 2MP camera, a QVGA 16 million-colour screen and dedicated mucis playback keys. The whole package upon purchase comes with a ROKR S9 wireless stereo headphone set. Another thing is that the Z8 is able to store up to 4GB of memory with the microSD cards.
I kind of like the design cos I've never seen such a design like this. Colour's good too. The thing that makes me curious is that the back of the phone. When it's close, the back is flat or straight but once it slides open the back bends. To me that is the most unique characterictic of the Z8.

One more is how can you not have games if it is said that Z8 features mainly entertainment and part of entertainment is obviously games. The best part is that Motorola has deal with EA Games but so far no word as to which titles will make the cut to be bundled with the phone.

Well that's all for today and as usual I would try my best to keep you gadget freaks updated and maybe some of you could give me here some feedbacks in case if I'm not up to date because in Malaysia these things come in later than other countries. Forgive me if I'm alil late on the updates ok?

Motorola RAZR2 V8 & V9

Motorola is coming out with 2 new slim clamshell successors for their ever so famous RAZR line. The Motorola RAZR2 V8(in black) and V9(in red).
The difference between the 2 n its predecessor the RAZR V3 is that the V8 n V9 sports a new and 2" wide screen on the outside with touch sensitive music keys. Both have a system call haptics technology which enables the touch sensitve keys triggers a vibration whenever the keys are being triggered. It sort of like telling the user that the keys are being accidentally push. Another thing is that both have a microUSB instead of their previous standard miniUSB slot. Both Devices are powered by ARM 11 processors which runs faster than prvious RAZR models.

The two handset versions have certain differences just too give an early notice. The Motorola RAZR2 V8 boasts a new Linux/Java user interface and will be sold in two variants - one with 420MB of memory available to the user, and a second one with 2GB of memory available to the user. Obviously, it won't have a memory cards slot. imagine with that amount of memory on a phone who needs a memory card slot. That depends on other mobile users.

On the other hand the Motorola RAZR2 V9 retains the original Motorola Synergy UI and has only 45MB of memory but has a microSD memory card slot.

Well judging by the good and overwhelming responses towards the last RAZR models, the new V8 and V9 would probably be a hit gadget in market once it is out. The downside of motorola phones is that they do not emphasize on the 3G system. Did I mention that the 2 does not have 3G as well.
The exact date of the availability of the 2 gadgets has not been confirm yet but could be somewhere in MAY/JUNE 2007. I'll keep you all gadget lovers posted AITE? especially to all motorola fans out there. I make sure I'll get the price posted as well.

Palm Bluetooth Keyboard

There's no shortage of Bluetooth keyboards for mobile devices, but this $100 Palm Bluetooth Keyboard looks like it's big enough for typing while it's still small enough to fold up and pack tightly into your briefcase. It sure as hell looks more usable than that Brando Bluetooth keyboard that's too tiny to get any real work done, and the same goes for the Freedom Mini, too.
This one might actually be practical.
Palm says its two AAA alkaline batteries will last five months, which might be a stretch. What, is that if you're using it once a month? Anyway, it works with Palm's Treo family of devices, and we're glad to see it has full-sized keys including numbers. (sources by gizmodo.com)
